A visit to @collectartfair at Somerset House is always a reminder of just how expansive contemporary art can be.

Presented by Crafts Council, Collect champions museum-quality contemporary craft and design, bringing together international galleries and artists who are pushing material boundaries in the most exciting ways.

What I loved most this year was the sheer diversity of mediums. Ceramics, intricate embroidery and textile works. Metalwork that plays with light and weight. Woven works and tapestries that carry both tradition and innovation. There’s something deeply refreshing about seeing artists communicate through clay, thread, fibre, steel, materials with history, tactility and presence.

Collect invites you to think about texture, process and the hand of the maker. It’s immersive, thoughtful and genuinely engaging.

These are a few of the works that stayed with me.

If you’re in London during the fair, it’s absolutely worth the visit.
