If I were starting an art collection from scratch and I had £10,000, these are the three artists I’d start with.

First, a Tracey Emin print. Her retrospective A Second Life is at Tate Modern right now, the secondary market data is strong, the momentum behind female artists is real and most of all I love the work.

Second, a Louise Giovanelli print. One caught my eye at the London Original Print Fair and after her show at the Hepworth Wakefield she’s one of the most exciting contemporary painters around. I’d be a fool not to buy one of her editions right now.

And third, Baud Postma. His work stopped me at the Canopy Collections stand at Photo London: analogue photography meets AI in his Cowboys & Flowers series, and it’s beautiful. He’s collaborated with Chanel and JW Anderson and shown everywhere from the Royal Academy to the National Portrait Gallery.

Which one would you start with?
