'Red and Black on Green' is a bold and assured Screenprint created during a defining period in his exploration of colour and abstract form. Rooted in the spirit of the St Ives School, the work distils landscape and lived experience into a finely balanced composition of simplified, geometric shapes. Set against a rich green ground, the contrast of red and black introduces a strong visual rhythm, at once harmonious and dynamic, demonstrating Frost’s intuitive understanding of colour as both structure and emotion. Printed in a relatively small edition, the work exemplifies his ability to create movement and tension within a controlled framework, where clarity of form meets a sense of spontaneity.

As a work from one of the most celebrated phases of his career, 'Red and Black on Green', offers collectors a confident and visually striking example of post-war British abstraction at its most refined.
