"Untitled No. 778", created by David Hockney in 2010, is an iPad drawing brought to life as an eight-colour inkjet print on high-quality cotton-fibre archival paper. Produced in a limited edition of 250, the work offers a tranquil view through a window, highlighting Hockney’s inventive use of digital technology within his ongoing exploration of landscape and contemporary media.

In this piece, Hockney effortlessly combines traditional artistic composition with the possibilities of a digital medium. The scene features flowering plants in the foreground and a distant house with a red roof, framed by a blue curtain on one side and a green window frame on the other, creating a strong sense of depth. His bold use of colour and characteristic brushwork translates seamlessly to the iPad format, showcasing how digital tools became an integral part of his creative process.

"Untitled No. 778" exemplifies Hockney’s continued investigation into the ways technology can transform modern printmaking, a journey he began in the late 2000s.
